Children's Ministry
Preschool Children
Each Sunday, children birth through age
five meet their Sunday School teachers on the first floor of building
B. During Sunday School, our teachers
work to create an environment where children first experience the love of God
through the love of others. Using storytelling, music, crafts and games, children are invited to experience the
Bible stories for themselves.
Following
Sunday School, children can be picked up by their parents or caregivers
for worship or stay in their rooms for Worship Care. Worship Care is
staffed by a group of volunteers who are dedicated to providing a
nurturing environment for children while their parents worship. We use
a paging system to make sure that parents and caregivers can be reached
at anytime during Sunday School and worship.
Children in kindergarten
through fifth grade will meet their Sunday School teachers on the second floor
of building B. During Sunday School, our
the children learn the stories of the Bible in ways that allow children to
interact with the stories, each other and their teachers. During Sunday School, children learn more
about the Bible, including how to find scripture.
Following Sunday School, children can be picked up by their parents or caregivers for worship or they may meet the Children’s Worship leader after Sunday School. During the school year, children in grades kindergarten through third grade are invited to participate in Children’s Worship. These children either sit with their parent/caregiver or the Children’s Worship leader during the first part of worship. As noted in the worship bulletin, children leave the sanctuary to continue their worship experience in the Chapel (lower level of building A). During Children’s Worship, children learn more about the elements of worship, the lectionary and the church year.
