JANUARY
College Sunday: On the first Sunday after Christmas Knollwood college students provide leadership in worship.
Wednesday Evening Programming resumes the first Wednesday after January 1.
Senior Adult Game Day - Senior Adult recreation and fellowship with a light lunch provided by the members of the Senior Adult Committee.

FEBRUARY
Youth Ski Trip – for combined Middle School and High School youth, usually an overnight trip to West Virginia.
Founder’s Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of February (Knollwood’s actual birthday is February 10, 1957)
Ash Wednesday Service- A service on the first day of lent in which the church gathers to offer prayers of confession. Our ceremonial use of ashes in marking each worshiper’s forehead dates from Old Testament times when the strewing of ashes upon the head was a sign of grief and mourning. These ashes are formed by burning the palm leaves that have been set aside from the previous Palm Sunday.
Women’s Retreat

MARCH
Holy Week Services -On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of Holy Week a service at noon is followed by a light lunch in the dining room at 12:30.
Maundy Thursday -Celebration of Holy communion is held in the sanctuary following dinner in the fellowship hall (which takes the place of our usual Wednesday night dinner) A nursery is provided for infants through three-year-olds.
Easter Sunday - We celebrate Christ’s resurrection. Worshippers are asked to bring flowers to decorate the cross outside the sanctuary doors.

APRIL
Knollwood Arts Festival - last week of April through the first week of May culminating with the Hymn Festival - a wide variety of artistic activities throughout the week.

MAY
Hymn Festival - the Chancel Choir leads in a program of Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual songs on the first Sunday evening of May.
Youth Mission Fund Raiser sponsored by the Youth Committee is a biannual event involving a bake sale, car wash, dinner, and silent auction the proceeds of which benefit the youth in their various mission projects or trips.

AUGUST
Sunday School Moving Up Day
Youth choir and handbell rehearsals resume for the fall.

SEPTEMBER
Fall Family Night and Children and Youth choir and bell rehearsals begin on Wednesdays from 4:30 – 7:00. This programming will continues through May.

- Day of concentrated mission work at various local mission sites.

DECEMBER
The First Sunday of Advent: Hope
The Second Sunday of Advent: Peace
The Third Sunday of Advent: Joy
A Service of Remembrance: the congregation gathers to worship in a time of remembering losses that have occurred this year.
The Fourth Sunday of Advent: Love
The Agapé Feast is Knollwood’s traditional event which includes kneeling communion followed by a festive gathering in the fellowship hall to share holiday foods.
Christmas Eve:
The 5:00 Family Service of Lessons and Carols is a service planned with children in mind. Worship is led by the children and youth choirs and instrumentalists.
Christmas Eve:
The 11:00 Candles, Carol, and Communion service is a candlelight service which includes kneeling communion and music by the Chancel Choir.
