Because of the extreme flooding in western North Carolina, the Red Cross has suspended blood collection operations in those counties. However, the need for blood continues, so volunteers in other areas are even more critical than usual. You can help by signing up now for our fall blood drive and count toward our 35-unit goal. We welcome volunteers to help with registration and snacks, too.
According to the American Red Cross, someone in the U.S. needs blood every two seconds, so blood products must be constantly replenished and can only come from volunteers like you. Unfortunately, only about 3% of age-eligible people donate blood yearly. And 84 percent of all blood donations are given at blood drives like ours.
Help your neighbors by joining us to provide a life-saving gift. Make your own appointment by visiting the Red Cross website (enter KBC’s Zip code, 27104, in the “Make an Appointment” box, then select our event for available times). Contact Katy Hites at [email protected] or 336-972-6039 with any questions or to volunteer.

Can’t make our blood drive? We encourage you to find another time and place to donate.
