“God of the Living”
Rev. Lucrecia Norman, preaching

Job 19:23-27;  2 Thessalonians 2:1-5, 13-17; Luke 20:27-38

In the Luke passage the Sadducees ask very good questions that many of us continue to ask about resurrection.   Jesus answers them with stories from Moses and reminding us that God is a God of the living.

Deuteronomy 30:15-20
1 Corinthians 3:1-9
Matthew 5:21-26

Jesus warns that unrestrained anger makes one “liable to judgment” (Mt. 5:21). Unless such anger is examined, tested, and winnowed, it can destroy relationships and community. Thankfully, Jesus teaches us what to do when we’re “mad as hell.”
