Join us for worship and fellowship during Holy Week and on Easter Sunday as we reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice and celebrate his resurrection with a variety of services and activities for all ages.
Anytime – As the weather turns warmer and spring blooms appear, we are invited to connect with God in the natural world. On our way to Easter joy, we must first journey through the drama of Holy Week.
Come to the Memorial Garden at any time during Holy Week to experience a contemplative prayer walk based on Psalm 31. Printed prayer guides will be provided at the entrance to the Memorial Garden, or download this PDF guide.
10:45 AM Worship – All Knollwood choirs and a brass ensemble will lead us in worship on the last Sunday in Lent as we follow Jesus through the streets of Jerusalem, into Pilate’s chambers, and finally to the cross.
7 PM Service – The Youth Choir and cello lead us in worship in the Sanctuary. This night we hear anew the New Commandment given by Christ: to love one another and to serve with humility. We’ll serve communion to one another. The stripping of the altar reminds us of how Christ was deserted by his closest friends.
Noon Service – The Chancel Choir will lead us in a solemn remembrance of the Crucifixion through scripture, prayer, meditation, and song in the Sanctuary. A simple soup lunch will be served afterward in the Fellowship Hall.
10-11:30 AM, WCC and surrounding lawn – Bring your Easter baskets! There will be carnival-style games, prizes, an Easter egg hunt, art projects, relays, stories, songs, and more. This event is open to preschoolers through fifth-graders and their families.
Register to attend at www.tinyurl.com/KBCKidsEaster24 so that we can prepare enough prizes and goody bags for all participants.
Flowering the Cross – See below for details on how to participate.
9:30-10:30 AM Easter Intergenerational Sunday School – All ages are invited to enjoy breakfast treats, fellowship, and fun in the Fellowship Hall. Together we’ll celebrate Easter joy and prepare for Worship through scripture, skit, and song.
10:45 AM Worship – Worship in the Sanctuary with the Chancel Bells and Chancel Choir leading, then enjoy hot cross buns on the front lawn after the service.
