Summer with kbc.kids

As we are carefully and strategically Re*Gathering at KBC this summer, we have a variety of children's events and programming for our Knollwood families. We hope you'll join us!

June 6 @ 9:30 AM - Collaborative Outdoor Sunday School: Jesus Calls for Justice

On June 6, there will be a collaborative Sunday School experience for Faith Matters, Barnabas, Children and Youth Sunday School classes.  We will meet outside in the courtyard between buildings A & B to explore scripture through small group discussion, readers' theatre, interactive learning and participatory prayer for all ages.  Children and Youth are invited to bring their grownups along, even if they don't usually participate in one of these adult Sunday School classes.  Doughnut holes and coffee provided!

*Because this is an outside event, masks will be optional.

Registration requested.

June 11 @ 8:30-11:30 Dig In (K-5)

A one-day mini camp for elementary students to celebrate the start of our summer theme - Growing God’s Garden.
Children will be outside and masked as they rotate in small groups through four stations: Gardening, Recreation, Woodworking, and Science.  We'll enjoy a mask break, snack and devotion mid-morning.

Please register by May 15.

August 2-5 8:30-12:30 - INSPIRE: Worship, Arts and Service Camp

We hope that our kids will be inspired to create and to serve as a result of their camp experience.  The word “inspire” comes from the root meaning “to breathe” and the word shares a connection with spirit (which comes from the Latin word for “breath,” spiritus, which is also from spirare).  It is our prayer that this will be a Spirit-led experience for our leaders and participants and that the Spirit will move among us during our week of camp.   We love the definition: “to infuse (as life) by breathing.”  May arts, worship and service be as life-giving as breath for us all.

Our theme for 2021 is Growing God’s Garden.  We will explore themes of God’s creation, being made in God’s image as co-creators, eco-justice and earthcare.
