Biblical scholar and New York Times bestselling author Bart D. Ehrman will discuss his new book, “Love Thy Stranger: How the Teachings of Jesus Transformed the Moral Conscience of the West,” in the sanctuary.
“Love Thy Stranger” traces how Jesus’ radical ethic of altruism — commanding his disciples to love even strangers — has shaped our world and our lives. Dr. Ehrman, though himself an agnostic, argues that it was the teachings of Jesus, which spread across the Western world, that transformed our moral conscience in ways that still endure today.
