This month’s topic is “Inside the Debate Over Books and Censorship.” How does the ongoing debate about books and censorship in school curricula affect those whose jobs entail making those decisions, as well as students themselves? What other organizations in the community are also affected?

One of Knollwood’s signature initiatives, Faith in the City hosts from October through May a variety of speakers who provide current information and facilitate provocative discussions about how education systems can better serve all students. Faith in the City invites participants to deepen community conversations about complex issues and find ways to work together to address injustices.

This year’s series will focus on “Education as a Public Good, exploring the essential role that effective public education plays in building healthy communities and maintaining a strong democracy.
