The Parable of The Good Samaritan: When God Hides in the Interruptions
Dr. Bob Setzer, Jr., preaching
Deuteronomy 30:9-14; Colossians 1:9-14;
Luke 10:25-37
In his Parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus slips past our defenses. The story shifts the focus from our question, “Who is my neighbor?” (v. 29) to Jesus’ question, “Who was a neighbor?” (v. 36). Such neighborliness in the face of another’s need is the fulfillment of God's law and a mark of following Jesus.
