Isaiah 65:17-22, 25; 2 Corinthians 5:14-17; Luke 24:36-45
In the early church, the resurrection of Jesus was likened to the “eighth day of creation” because Jesus’ resurrection signaled not just the resurrection of the body, but God’s re-creation of the world. The “bodily resurrection” of Jesus means, in part, that creation is not a disposal container for “spirit,” but a sacred domain of the divine life. Hence, creation is precious and worthy of our awe and care. (Earth Day Emphasis)
