True humility is not the false modesty that often thrives in religious circles. True humility is finding one’s source in God that liberates one from maneuvering for attention. “Those who exalt themselves will be humbled,” warns Jesus, “and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” And not because God rewards such behavior but because that is the way life in God’s kingdom works.
