Moses’ mother and sister, like the Hebrew midwives, Shiphrah and Puah before them (Exodus 1:15-22), show resourcefulness and courage in preserving life. But in the end, a baby must set sail on a river in a frail wicker basket. Faith always requires such a “letting go.”
