Isaiah 65:17-21, 24-25; 2 Thessalonians 3:6-8, 10-13; Luke 21:10-19

We are living in tumultuous times but that is nothing new. Jesus says war, division, famine, earthquakes, and plagues are always part of human life. But such hard times offer Jesus’ disciples an “opportunity to testify” to his truth, justice, and love (Lk 21:13)

Deuteronomy 30:15-20
1 Corinthians 3:1-9
Matthew 5:21-26

Jesus warns that unrestrained anger makes one “liable to judgment” (Mt. 5:21). Unless such anger is examined, tested, and winnowed, it can destroy relationships and community. Thankfully, Jesus teaches us what to do when we’re “mad as hell.”
