Rev. Katharine Martin

Minister of Adult Faith Formation and Education

A member of Knollwood since 2011, Katharine Martin joined the ministry staff in 2019. Previously, she taught English, ethics, biblical studies, and world religions and has also served as a missionary in India, a chaplain and outreach coordinator, and a children’s minister. Katharine holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Salem College, and both a master of education degree and a master of divinity degree from Wake Forest University.

Among her other leadership roles at Knollwood, Katharine has served on the Women’s Retreat committee and the Racial Equity Task Force, teaches in the Faith Matters Sunday school class, and serves as a Godly Play storyteller. She is passionate about building inclusive community and helping others discover spiritual practices, explore their faith, and deepen their relationship with God.

Katharine and her husband, Brent, an IT enterprise architect at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, have two teenage daughters, Annabel and Rosalie. She enjoys watching anything British, exploring spiritual disciplines and learning about other cultures, and following professional women’s soccer.
